Karo Glazer is referred to as one of the most original vocal artists of recent years, called "a true singing asset and the best Poland has to offer.” She is an artists with 4-octave expressive voice and endless musical imagination, whose talent was ap- preciated by Tom Waits and members of Coldplay during International Songwriting Competition. She is a singer, composer, arranger, songwriter and music producer all at the same time. Glazer also wrote music for theatre plays and ballet. She has worked on international music projects from Los Angeles, throw London to Munich. She is an author of over 300 compositions. Throughout her career she"s played and recorded with both jazz and rock musicians i.e Lars Danielsson, Mike Stern, John Taylor, Klaus Doldinger, Joo Kraus and multiple Grammy-winning producers Martin Walters (Esperanza Spalding, Spyro Gyra, Dianne Reeves) and Flemming Ras- mussen (Metallica, Rainbow, Mr Big). After the premiere of her debut album “Nor- mal” released by German label JARO Medien, her name was mentioned by Der Spiegel and her concerts were covered by TV stations such as: Deutsche Welle and NDR. Concert venues were filled to capacity during her appearances on: Open’er Festival and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. She supported the concerts of such stars as Gotan Project, Marcus Miller and James Carter. She performed in Europe, Asia and USA.
25 OCTOBER 2024— Karo Glazer, The Lady Dynamite, called “a true singing asset and the best Poland has to offer” is an artist with 4-octave expressive voice and endless musical imagination, whose talent was appreciated by Tom Waits and members of Coldplay during International Songwriting Competition, shares the first independent single “BLACK SUN” feat. Dead Star Talk & Józef Skrzek, off her forthcoming album “#LadyDynamite" - the hotly anticipated solo album to be released in 2025.
On “BLACK SUN”, Glazer delivers a euphoric guitar riff, spiked with her explosive voice, trance groove and her new artistic vision, which is presented by her new conception of 7” vinyl, which includes DJ TOOLS kit on B side and the solar foil sleeve cover, that lets you safely observe the sun. Working alongside Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Rainbow, Mr Big) nad Michał Rosicki (Herbie Hancock, Dr L Subramaniam, George Duke) Karo originally produced the entire track as a 2 minutes long filler song on the album. Half year later, after meeting Christian Holl Buhl, the leader of a Danish rock band Dead Star Talk, Glazer decided to rearrange the song and compose the psychodelic progressive outro. Once the track took shape, she recorded BLACK SUN with her band and her special guests Christian and Gunes from Dead Star Talk and Józef Skrzek - the multi-awarded master of the moog, founder of the legendary Polish band SBB.
"I wanted to write a song that has a flavour of Jake White and moves your body like Led Zeppelin. Nobody would ever expect me to do that, but that"s my roots. I"m coming back home! At the same lyrically I was inspired by Pink Floyd. I looked at the complexities of living in AI and algorithms era, when we as human beings be- come more and more passive. We mostly pretend on many cases instead of shar- ing love and support each other. I adore songs that might not be exactly what they appear to be on the surface. After years of performing contemporary jazz, Karo Glazer returns with BLACK SUN, a single filled with the rebel voice, wailing soul, jittery guitars and buzzing grooves born of frustration, anger, pain and love to mankind. It’s a psychodelic rock Odyssey with progressive influences based on alternative, soul and jazz roots.
